Cold case investigations by students at Chatham University, Pittsburgh PA are proving productive. Two separate groups, founded and headed by Dr. Christine Sarteschi are actively investigating unsolved crimes across the United States. All research is initiated after a request by a police department and all information uncovered is then returned to that particular department.
The first of the two groups, AISOCC Chatham University (American Investigative Society of Cold Cases Chatham University) was founded two years ago and its success spurred the creation of the second group, CUSCCR (Chatham University’s Society for Cold Case Research) and is proving equally successful.
Most recently, in a North Carolina missing persons case, they have revealed previously unknown information that has been deemed by investigating officers as significant and helpful to solving this 22-year-old cold case. We look forward to our work on new cases for the 2017-2018 school year.
